Excellent primitive camping areas. Treks can be tailored to various lengths. The big disadvantage here is that you are not “going anywhere”. The primitive sites are near the road. For some reason mentally it seems absurd to backpack 6-8 miles with 30+ pounds on your back- to end up at the parking area you left from. None the less – this area is beautiful and offers a great place to learn Leave No Trace without having the backwoods impacted by your Troop’s inexperience.
